Pet Trading
Pet swaps between friends: the propose/counter/accept flow, which pets can be traded, what travels with them and the daily limits.
Overview
A pet trade is a full swap: when it completes, the two pets change owners — yours goes to your friend and theirs comes to you. Each pet restarts at level 1 but is otherwise exactly as it was: stars, purple stars, evolution, shiny, nature and worn items all travel with it, and it can be traded again later. It happens in the Pets menu (open a pet → TRADE WITH FRIEND → pick a friend) and offers wait in Social → TRADE under PENDING TRADES, where each side can see the other pet in full before accepting.
NOTE
The trade sheet reads: A FULL SWAP — Both pets restart at Lv 1 (an evolved pet at Lv 100), then STARS, PURPLE STARS, EVOLUTION, SHINY, NATURE and ITEMS …all stay with the pet, and it can be traded again. An evolved pet never drops below level 100, the level it evolved at.
How a trade works
- You propose one of your pets to a friend.
- They counter-offer one of theirs (or decline).
- You accept the pair (or decline). Both pets are locked while the offer is open — they cannot be equipped on the board, fused, salvaged, sent to work anywhere (the hoard included) or offered elsewhere, and the items they wear can't be added or removed (they travel with the pet) — and unlock the moment anyone declines.
What can be traded
- You must be friends.
- Regular and limited pets. Every regular pet and every limited pet (shop bundles, Founder rewards, giveaways) can be traded, however you got it — free pulls and pets you received in a trade included. Elusive pets can never be traded — see the list below.
- Any star tier, evolved or not — as long as your friend can receive it. They must have unlocked the world the pet comes from: the lowest world whose pet crate carries it (the Crystal Cat is World 1, the Owl Sage World 3), or a fossil pet's fossil world; a limited or hoard pet comes from no world and anyone can take it. An evolved pet only goes to a player who has broken gate 8 (Pet Evolution), and a purple-star pet only to one who has broken gate 15 (Ball Grove). The trade picker greys out friends who can't take the pet yet and says why. It is a trading rule only: pets you already own stay exactly as they are.
- Nothing equipped or active. The pet must not be equipped on the board, working anywhere — the hoard, a mine, an expedition, a furnace, a dive bell, a Deep Run — in a raid party, or running an Evolution Trial. Unequip it or bring it back first; this is checked again at the moment the trade is accepted.

What travels — and what does not
| Detail | Rule |
|---|---|
| Level | The only thing that resets: the pet arrives at level 1 with no XP — an evolved pet at level 100, the level it evolved at. |
| Stars | Fusion stars and purple stars travel. |
| Evolution | An evolved pet arrives evolved. |
| Shiny | A shiny arrives shiny — see Shiny pets. |
| Nature | The pet keeps its nature. |
| Items & charms | Equipped pet items go with the pet. Charms belong to your Charm Octopus, not the pet, and stay behind. |
| Eggs | An egg arrives as an egg; a hatched pet arrives hatched. |
| Tradability | The pet stays tradable — it can be traded on again. |
Daily limits
- 1 trade sent and 1 trade received per day, counted when a trade is accepted (a declined offer costs nothing). The day resets at midnight UTC together with sticker requests and every other daily.
- At most 5 proposals in any rolling 24 hours.
- The TRADE tab's TODAY card shows the sent allowance: PET TRADE · swap a pet with a friend.
Tips
- Trade a spare copy of a species you have duplicates of — the pet you give away is gone, so keep your best one.
- Levels come back with feeding; stars, evolution, a shiny and a good nature do not. Those are what make a pet worth trading for.
