Prestige

Reset your level, bars and UPGRADES at level 10+ for Prestige Points, and spend them on 25 permanent heirlooms across 4 tiers.

Overview

Prestige is the reset loop built on top of ores, bars and UPGRADES. Once your player level reaches 10 you may reset the run. You lose the temporary progress and are paid Prestige Points, which buy heirlooms — permanent upgrades that are never reset.

For new players the PRESTIGE tile and the HUD level widget unlock with intro task 20 “Reach level 10”. The PRESTIGE button asks you to press it a second time within a few seconds to confirm; there is no other warning.

The PRESTIGE page has three parts. The run: your level bar, which run you are on, your best level and your level cap. Cash in this run: a payout track showing what a prestige pays at each level from 10 up to the cap your next gate would give (levels past your current cap are padlocked), the PRESTIGE button with the points it pays now, and what a prestige resets. Heirlooms: one shelf per tier with its UNEARTH button; tap a found heirloom to see its next level and LEVEL UP.

What resets and what stays

HEADS UP
Bars are wiped. Before you prestige, spend them somewhere permanent — THE ARMORY, a world shop or the Research Hall. A statue's price has to be saved up within a single run.

Prestige Points

The payout is the run's XP: 12 points for every 1,679 XP it took to reach your level (level 10's total), at the same rate at every level. A level 20 prestige pays 63, because it took 5.3 times the XP of a level 10 run. Resetting early never pays more per XP - it only wipes your UPGRADES page again.

PRESTIGE POINT GAIN

  • The tier 2 heirloom PRESTIGE POINT GAIN: +6% Prestige Points a level, +84% Prestige Points at max.
  • The PAIR statues (statue 8 of each world, THE LONG GAME) in the Research Hall.
  • A row on the Bounty board. It is read before the reset, so it pays on the prestige you bought it for.
  • Prestige rungs of the skin ladder, and a store perk that doubles prestige income.

Your level cap is 10 + 5 per gate, so breaking gates is what lets a run reach the higher payouts.

Heirlooms

Heirlooms come in four tiers. Tier 1 is open from your first prestige; the others open as you break gates. You do not pick which heirloom you get: pressing UNEARTH on a tier's shelf draws one. The tier's GATE DAMAGE heirloom is always the first draw, and after that the draw is random among the tier's locked heirlooms. Every unlock doubles the price of the tier's next unlock.

An unlocked heirloom starts at level 1. Further levels cost points on the tier's growing curve. Tier 1's first unearth costs 6 and its first level-up 5: 11 points, inside the 12 a level 10 prestige pays - the intro's heirloom task. The second unearth (12) has to wait for the next prestige.

Tips

  • Your first prestige at level 10 is worth doing promptly: its points unearth GATE DAMAGE and level it once, which makes the next run faster.
  • Points follow XP, so a long run never pays less per XP than a string of short ones, and every reset you skip keeps your UPGRADES page (XP GAIN included) working. Climb as far as you can, ideally to the level cap, then prestige.
  • If your XP bar is full and stuck, you are at the level cap. Break a gate or prestige — XP past the cap is lost.
  • GATE DAMAGE heirlooms are the ones meant to snowball. CHEST DAMAGE heirlooms are deliberately small.
