Getting Started
A new-player guide to Ballin Tycoon: the core loop from bins and ore to the Hoard and its gates, the intro task ladder, what to spend on, common mistakes and the goals that come next.
What is Ballin Tycoon?
Ballin Tycoon is an idle ball-drop arcade. You launch balls down a peg board; the coloured bin each ball lands in pays coins, gems, balls, gold balls — and a guaranteed piece of ore. Ore gives you XP and is smelted into bars; bars buy upgrades; the upgrades arm the pets you station in THE HOARD, where they crack chests and batter down a ladder of 50 gates. Every gate you break opens more of the game — new modes, new machines, new menus.
Around that loop sit the ARCADE machine (coins in, levels and Marquee stats out), pets from the Pet Crates, 5 worlds behind padlocked doors, and prestige, which resets the temporary part of your progress for permanent power. It runs in the browser and as a phone app, keeps earning while you are away, and every drop rate in it is public — see Rates & Odds.
The core loop
- Launch balls.
You start with 500 balls and regenerate one every 30s up to your cap (500 to begin with). Tap LAUNCH, or switch the bar to AUTO to fire one every 0.5 s. Up to 100 balls can be on the board at once. → The board - Bins pay loot and ore.
Seven tiers from Grey to Diamond. Higher tiers pay more coins, drop gems and gold balls, and the top three chip the world lock. Every bin except Diamond also pays the metal ore of its colour — TIN, COPPER, SILVER, GOLD, VERDITE, CRIMSONITE in World 1 — and each world has its own 6 metals. → Bucket rates, Ores & bars - Ore is XP. Every ore you collect fills the green XP bar at the top of the screen. Your player level opens new upgrade rows and, at level 10, PRESTIGE. The level cap starts at 10 and rises by 5 for every gate you have broken.
- Craft bars, buy upgrades.
MENU → CRAFTING turns ore into bars (4 Tin ore per Tin bar; richer metals take more). MENU → UPGRADES spends bars on rows such as GATE DAMAGE, HOARD POWER, GATE ACCURACY, ORE YIELD. → Crafting, Upgrades - Work THE HOARD.
The HOARD tab on the bottom bar is a second screen where your pets go to work: they crack chests for shards, balls, gems and artifacts, and you send them against the current gate. It is its own screen, so any pet you own can stand in it — even the ones on the board. → The Hoard, Hoard chests - Break gates to unlock the game.
An attack lasts 30s and then the gate is on a 20m cooldown; damage carries over between attacks. Gates give no stats — each one opens content instead (table under Next goals). Gate 1 opens THE ARMORY; the last is gate 50. → Gates - Coins go into the ARCADE.
Every launch on the pinball machine costs 1,000 coins × your stake and scores points into the Arcade level bar. Every Arcade level pays one Marquee reward — lock damage, coin gain, gate damage, ball storage, pet inventory — up to Arcade level 500. → The Arcade - Gems buy pets.
A pet crate costs 200 gems in World 1 · Meadow (+100 per world). Pets ride along with passive buffs; feed them gold balls
to level them, fuse three copies for a star, salvage spares for Pet Essence
. Every pet also has a nature that makes it better at one job and worse at another. → Pets, Pet Crates - Break the lock, hop worlds. Emerald, Ruby and Diamond landings damage the padlocked door beside the bins. Aurora needs 25K HP; breaking any lock pays 1,000 gems and each new world brings new bins, ores, pets and pet cards. → Worlds
- Prestige.
At level 10 you can prestige: your level, ore, bars, upgrade rows and bounties reset, and you are paid Prestige Points to spend on permanent heirlooms. Gates, pets, the Armory, the Marquee and everything you have unlocked stay. → Prestige
The bins (World 1 values)
Coins per landing are flat and later worlds multiply them (×1.375 in Aurora, ×2.8 in Inferno). Ore is guaranteed on every landing; gem and ball drops are a chance, and the exact odds for every world are on Bucket rates. The XP figure is per ore in World 1 — later worlds pay their world number times as much.

The ARCADE machine
The Arcade is a separate screen (the ARCADE tab on the bottom bar; a new account opens it with intro task 4). Each launch lands in one of 5 bins and scores points × stake; the ★ centre bin (1.77% (1 in 56.5) of launches) either opens the door for a bonus card (65% of the time) or drops a MEGA BALL into prize bins of balls, gems or a pet item.
The stake chip multiplies both the cost and the points of a launch, so a higher stake is faster, never better value. Stakes open for good as your Arcade level climbs: ×2 at Arcade Lv 10, ×3 at Arcade Lv 30, ×5 at Arcade Lv 50, ×10 at Arcade Lv 70, ×25 at Arcade Lv 90, ×50 at Arcade Lv 110, ×100 at Arcade Lv 130; ×200 is researched. The reward bubbles that used to sit on the level bar pay nothing now — every arcade stat is a row on the Marquee.
Your first hour: the intro tasks
A new account has no tutorial to sit through. Instead one task at a time appears in a slim INTRO TASKS bar across the top of the board, with a progress count and the reward it pays. Tap the bar for a hint about where to go; when the task is done a green COMPLETE TASK button hangs under it, and it tells you what claiming it UNLOCKS. While a task points at a menu, the MENU button pulses and the right tile is ringed. There are 25 tasks and they take you through every part of the core loop once. → Intro tasks

The last task asks nothing of you: its bar fills itself, 0 to 100% in about 10 seconds, and claims itself - no button - paying a
Hoard chest key and ending the intro with a send-off. The key is yours to use whenever you like: in THE HOARD, USE KEY under a chest that is still cracking opens it on the spot. While you play as a guest, each time you come back the welcome-back page is followed by a reminder to save your progress with an account (creating one pays a free pet crate opening).
- The free pulls are rigged in your favour. 5 tasks pay a free pet crate, and each always lands a named pet (4 × Lucky Rabbit, 1 × Silver Magpie) so that you have the copies the fusion and salvage steps ask for. Free-roll copies are ordinary pets: they trade and salvage for full essence like any other (only the bonus gem roll on salvage is skipped).
- XP is doubled until the ladder is done. Every bin landing pays ×2 XP while the intro tasks are running, so level 10 (the first prestige) comes in about half the balls. The bonus stops with your first prestige.
- The jackpot task is guaranteed. While "Launch balls until you hit the Diamond Jackpot" is up, a lucky portal chain into the Diamond bin is on its way — just keep launching in World 1.
- Menus open as you go. CRAFTING, UPGRADES, the SHOP, SALVAGE, PET FUSION, the ARCADE and THE HOARD are all locked behind a TASKS chip until the task that introduces them is claimed. QUESTS open when the whole ladder is finished.
- Keep a pet spare for the hoard. The salvage menu will not let you break down the pets the later tasks need, but it is still worth remembering that the hoard wants a pet that is not equipped on the board.
- Accounts older than version 3 never see the bar; everything it opens, THE HOARD included, is already open for them.
Also worth doing on day one
- Switch LAUNCH to AUTO and let it run; the info strip under the word shows your balls against your cap and the timer to the next one.
- Grab the FREE GIFT in the SHOP: 100 balls, 50 gems and 1 green sticker pack every 8h. It is one of the intro tasks.
- Save your progress. Playing as a guest keeps everything on this device only. Add an email (or Google / Apple / Discord) in SETTINGS → SAVE PROGRESS: nothing is lost, and you get a starter bonus of 1 free pet roll. → Accounts
- Do the daily quests once the ladder is done: 5 tasks a day, each worth 50 balls + 25 gems + 5 weekly points; 50 points opens the first weekly chest (300 balls + 100 gems). → Daily Quests
What to spend on first
| Currency | Spend it on | Why |
|---|---|---|
| UPGRADES first, then THE ARMORY once gate 1 falls | Upgrades reset with a prestige, so a run buys the early levels again; each level costs more than the last. Armory rows are permanent — every bar spent there survives every prestige. | |
| ARCADE launches at ×1 (1,000 each) | Every Arcade level is a permanent Marquee reward. Raise the stake only when coins pile up faster than you can launch. | |
| Pet crates (200 in World 1) | Pets are the biggest multiplier you control, and the hoard wants a second team of them. Later, founding a guild costs 100. | |
| Feeding the pets you actually use | 1 gold ball = 1 pet XP. A common pet reaches Lv100 for about 25K gold balls. A pet's level and stars count in the hoard as well as on the board. | |
| Launching | They are the fuel, not a currency to hoard — the cap stops regeneration once you hit it. | |
| Fusion and later Evolution (gate 8) | Salvaging a spare common pays 100 essence; three copies of a pet fuse into the next star for a rarity-priced essence fee. | |
| Unlocking and levelling heirlooms | They are permanent. The last two intro tasks walk you through your first prestige and your first two heirlooms. |
In the Shop the FREE GIFT is the only thing you need to touch early. Nothing in the Shop is required to reach any world or break any gate.
Common mistakes
- Ignoring the hoard. The gates are what open the game. If nothing new has unlocked for a while, check the HOARD tab — a green timer chip on it means an attack is ready.
- Putting every pet on the board. Hoard pets and board pets are separate teams; a pet can only do one job at a time (the same goes for expeditions and the Ball Factory).
- Sitting on ore. Ore does nothing until it is crafted, and bars do nothing until they are spent. Upgrades are wiped by a prestige anyway, so there is no reason to save for them.
- Being afraid to prestige. A prestige only takes the TEMPORARY section of the menu — level, ore, bars, upgrades, bounties. Gates, pets, Armory rows, heirlooms and unlocks are permanent.
- Ignoring the ARCADE. Board balls earn coins but never Arcade levels. Lock damage, coin gain and gate damage from the Marquee only come from launching in the machine.
- Chasing high stakes early. ×10 costs ten times more for ten times the points — identical value, just faster.
- Leaving pets in the inventory. Only equipped pets buff the board (and elusive pets must be activated).
- Salvaging or fusing your only copy. Fusion needs three identical copies at the same star; salvage is for spares.
- Playing as a guest forever. A reinstall or a cleared browser loses a guest account. Save it — it is free and keeps your friend code.
- Forgetting the timers. The FREE GIFT (every 8h), gate attacks (every 20m), daily quests (reset at midnight UTC) and the Sticker Vault (every 1d) all idle if you do not tap them.
Where things are
The screen is the same on every platform: a top bar with your profile circle, level and currencies; the board; the LAUNCH bar with QUESTS and RANKS beside it; your pet row with the bag button; and a bottom bar with the three scene tabs — ARCADE, BOARD, HOARD — plus MENU and the green SHOP. Everything else lives inside MENU. The full tour, button by button, is on Menu & HUD.
Next goals
After the intro tasks, the gate ladder is your to-do list. Every gate below opens something; the number is the gate you have to break. Locked tiles in the MENU show the same gate number on a chip.

In the worlds
- World 2 · Aurora: the 5,000 HP Glacier Gate seals the Gold+ bins until you break it for a 100-launch breach.
- World 3 · Flora: water the flower pegs, pick pollen, and tap the sun for Golden Hour (1 in 2,000 per launch, ×3 sap for 1m).
- World 4 · Maelstrom: the whirlpool swallows balls, then DIVE to a second board that pays balls.
- Sticker albums run in 50-day seasons; tournaments reset weekly; Bingo is monthly.
Tips
- Your friend code (shown as
ARC-XXXX-XXXXin SOCIAL) is also your Support ID and your referral link — every brand-new friend who finishes the intro pays 100 balls, and the REFERRALS ladder pays gems, a skin and, at 100 friends, wings. - Every pet grant, from any source, has a 1 in 1,000 shiny roll.
- The Pet Crates guarantee a mythic on the 400th pull without one, and the first 50 paid pulls in each world after the first are 25% off (225 in Aurora, 300 in Flora, 375 in Maelstrom, 450 in Inferno).
- Time Candy from the bag is instant balls (30 Minute Candy = 60, 1 Hour Candy = 120, 2 Hour Candy = 240, 4 Hour Candy = 480) and can push you over your cap.
- Portals warp a ball back up for a second landing; once gate 2 is broken, 200 portals in a world spin the Bonus Wheel.
- When you come back after a break, the WELCOME BACK card sums up what the game did without you: balls regenerated, balls waiting in the Ball Factory and chests the hoard cracked. → Offline earnings
